Luxury Baysville – Experiences, Lifestyles, Travel
The southernmost of the three communities dotted around the Lake of Bays’ shoreline, the quaint village of Baysville offers many great reasons for a visit. Thanks to its lovely dam and nearby parks, simply sitting by the water and watching the world float by is sometimes all the fun that’s needed.
If you want to get out on the water from here, Baysville Marina offers rentals of boats and jet-skis, while tours are available with Lake of Bays Boat Tours (fishing charters can also be arranged on the lake). A great time to visit is during the annual Lake of Bays Antique & Classic Boat & Car Show, when owners of vintage wooden boats show-off their vessels to appreciative crowds.
Baysville also has a rich tradition of great food and drink, too. Not only is it the headquarters of the popular Yummies in a Jar, a local purveyor of fine condiments and tasty sweet- and savoury treats, it’s also where you’ll find some of Muskoka’s best butter tarts (Humble Pie Butter Tart Factory), great sausages and smoked meats (Fork in the Road), plus tasty cheese covered treats (Cheesus Murphy and the Grateful Bread). Wash any of these down with a great craft beer from Lake of Bays Brewery, and you’re all set.
